1. Changes and Cancellation

  • The organizer reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.
  • The organizer may also change the content, schedule, or other aspects of the event without prior notice. Any such changes will be announced on the official website or through other methods deemed appropriate by the organizer.
  • The organizer may cancel the event due to natural disasters, the spread of infectious diseases, force majeure, government requests, operational reasons, or other unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, notice will be provided via the official website or other appropriate channels.

2. Application for Participation

  • Applications will be deemed invalid in the following cases:
    • False information is provided in the application.
    • Unauthorized access or use of an invalid email address.
    • Applications submitted through automated programs or bots, as determined by the organizer.
    • Violation of these Terms and Conditions.
    • Any other case where the organizer deems the applicant unsuitable for participation.
  • The organizer shall not be liable for any damage resulting from an invalid application.
  • The organizer shall not be liable for any damage caused by inability to apply or data leakage due to device or network issues, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the organizer.

3. Prohibited Conduct

  • The following actions are strictly prohibited. The organizer reserve the right to take appropriate measures including issuing warnings, removing the individuals from the venue, or restricting future participation:
    • Soliciting for religious purpose
    • Engagement in election campaigning
    • Discriminatory remarks or actions toward others
    • Defamation or slander
    • Invasion of privacy
    • Violent or threatening behavior
    • Sexual harassment or similar conduct
    • Acts in violation of laws or public morals
    • Smoking outside designated areas
    • Non-compliance with infectious disease control measures
    • Loud conversations during programs that require silence
    • Excessive and aggressive sales activities
    • Unauthorized collection, disclosure, or provision of personal information
    • Spreading rumors, or using deception or threats to undermine the credibility of the event or disrupt its operations
    • Any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the organizer
  • The organizer shall not be liable for any damage arising from actions taken pursuant to the preceding paragraph.

4. Copyright and Photography

  • Photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, or interviews may be conducted by the organizer or its authorized contractors during the event. This may include coverage of presentations, exhibits, and networking activities.
  • All intellectual property rights associated with photographs, videos, audio, articles, and other related content shall belong to the organizer or the respective content creators.
  • The organizer or third parties authorized by the organizer, may use the aforementioned content for legitimate purposes such as publicity, advertising, reporting, and documentation through official websites, social media, newspapers, magazines, or other media platforms. By participating in the event, participants agree to such use without compensation.
  • Participants acknowledge that their likeness or voice may be partially or fully included in such content and agree not to exercise portrait rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other related rights against such use.
  • For the purpose of promoting the event’s outcomes and disseminating information, participants may be photographed or interviewed. By attending the event, participants are deemed to have consented to the use of their likeness in such materials.

5. Disclaimers

  • The organizer shall not be held responsible for any injuries, illnesses, losses, thefts, or other incidents occurring at the venue, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.
  • If a participant causes damage to the organizer or a third party by violating these Terms and Conditions, the participant shall be responsible for compensating any resulting damages.
  • In the event of a dispute between participants or between a participant and a third party, the parties involved shall be responsible for resolving the matter themselves, unless the organizer is found to be at fault.
  • While the organizer provides opportunities and space for networking among participants, it does not guarantee the occurrence, counterpart, content, or outcomes of any meetings or discussions. The organizer shall not be liable for any damages arising from such interactions, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

6. Personal Information

  • 1. The organizer will handle all collected personal information appropriately in accordance with its Privacy Policy(https://global-startup-expo.go.jp/en/privacy-policy/
  • By participating in the event, participants are deemed to have agreed to the above Privacy Policy.

7. Exclusion of Anti-Social Forces

  • Participants represent and warrant that they do not fall under any of the following categories:
    • Organized crime groups or their members
    • Individuals or entities affiliated with such groups
    • Individuals or entities providing funds or benefits to such groups
  • If a participant is found to be in violation of the preceding clause, the organizer may refuse or cancel their participation.

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with this event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
