Anvesh Madabushi

■ Biography
Based in Emerald’s Singapore office, Anvesh Madabushi specializes in the mobility and automation sector. He is engaged throughout the entire investment process—sourcing, evaluating, selecting, and supporting innovative mobility start-ups from early diligence to exit. Anvesh’s expertise spans the automotive and energy storage industries, with a proven track record in product management, specializing in launching new products from concept to series production. Anvesh worked in Japan at Daimler Trucks Asia – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation from 2016 to 2022 and led the successful new product development of the electric light-duty truck “eCanter” in Japan. He also led the product launch of the medium-duty truck “Fighter” in Indonesia and oversaw various series change developments involving safety features, connectivity integration, and central electronics upgrades across various markets in APAC, Europe, and Middle East. More recently, he worked at VFlowTech, a vanadium redox flow battery manufacturer in Singapore, and introduced a 500kWh vanadium redox flow battery that was used in a microgrid project to decarbonize the island of Pulau Ubin in Singapore. He also won the “Make It in the Emirates Startup Pitch Competition” hosted by the Government of UAE, an event that spotlighted deep tech startups addressing climate change issues. Anvesh holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power and energy systems from the National University of Singapore.

■ Biography
Gabrielle is a Senior Advisor at In-Q-Tel based in Tokyo, where she is responsible for investing in Japanese deep tech startups. In-Q-Tel is a global, strategic investment fund that invests on behalf of the United States and its allies and partners. Gabrielle has more than a decade of experience working in emerging technology investing and policy. Prior to In-Q-Tel, Gabrielle served as Deputy Director of the Office of Strategic Capital, a new U.S. government financial institution providing billions of dollars to companies developing critical technologies. She earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a Master's degree from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

Lawrence Takeuchi

■ Biography
Dr. Takeuchi is Co-Founder, Partner, and Head of Research at the Brevan Howard Macro Venture Fund, which combines Brevan Howard’s global macro heritage with venture capital. The fund applies the same disciplined, forward-looking analysis used in macro investing to startups across strategically important sectors influenced by government policy and geopolitical shifts.
His current focus includes AI hardware and software, quantum computing, robotics, fusion energy, space, and defense.
He has held investment and research roles in the U.S., Asia, and Europe at firms including Moore Capital and Deutsche Bank. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in Finance from the University of Chicago.

■ Biography
Ludwig has been on all sides of venture — as an entrepreneur, corporate buyer of ventures, and venture capitalist. Before Alumni Ventures, he experienced the daily realities of entrepreneurship as Founder and CEO of a mobile payments venture that served over 12 million people. Earlier, at a Fortune 100 telecommunications manufacturer (Nokia), he held general manager and business development roles that included investing in and acquiring venture-backed businesses. His first experience in venture capital was with an $800 million global fund that focused on enterprise and mobile software both before and after the dot.com crash. Ludwig began his career as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. He has a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia. He lives in NYC with his wife and 2 teenagers.
