We Held a Face-to-Face Meetup in Osaka! A Special Day Exploring the Forefront of Futuristic Medicine and Startups.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, student volunteers gathered in Osaka for the first face-to-face meetup. It was an interactive event featured a facility tour at Nakanoshima Qross, and a lecture and Q & A session by Kazuo Omori, President and CEO of Revascular Bio Inc., a deep-tech startup from Kansai that has been gaining significant attention.

Facility tour at Nakanoshima Qross

Nakanoshima Qross, which officially opened in June 2024, serves as a hub for the industrialization of future medical care.
The participants toured the Yanai my iPS factory of the Kyoto University iPS Cell Research Foundation, the corporate laboratory of As One Corporation, and the startup incubation area. This visit provided a unique opportunity to observe and learn firsthand about the industrialization of future medicine. In addition, expert supporter Misato Yoshida and Associate Professor Masakazu Yagi of Osaka University Endowed Chair Program delivered passionate lectures on deep tech and innovation. There presentations were highly engaging and serve as significant source of inspiration for the participants.

Lectures by senior entrepreneurs

In the second half of the event, participants moved to JAM BASE Multispace in Grangreen Osaka, where a lecture and Q & A session were conducted by Dr. Omori of RevascularBio, who is engaged in vascular regeneration. Dr. Omori, who has experience as both a clinician and a medical researcher, shared insights into his decision to start his own business and the importance of staying true to one’s genuine feelings. The session was highly stimulating and thought-provoking for the participants.

Pitch by Dr. Omori of Revascular Bio

The student volunteer team has been officially named: "GSEeds"!

After Dr. Omori's lecture, the participants divided into groups to brainstorm and discuss potential team names for student volunteers. Each group shared their ideas, and following an online voting, "GSEeds" was finally selected. The name combines the concept of being a student volunteer of GSE, an abbreviation for Global Startup EXPO 2025, with the idea of "seeds” symbolizing innovation and the potential for students to grow and flourish in the future. It received the most support and was selected as the team name because it reflects GSE's characteristics of "global" and "deep tech," as well as its originality. This name will represent the team in all future activities.
