From Osaka to the World! ~ Behind the Scenes of Global Startup EXPO 2025 Supported by Student Volunteers "GSEeds" ~

Global Startup EXPO 2025(Referred to as "GSE 2025") was held on September 17th and 18th , 2025 featuring numerous speakers and visitors from both Japan and overseas.
The event, which has attracted global attention, was supported by the enthusiastic efforts of young student volunteers, "GSEeds," who assisted with reception duties and stage guidance throughout the startup event!

Startups and venture capitalists from around the world gathered!

Experience the excitement of passionate sessions and pitches up close! GSE 2025 brought together startups and venture capitalists from around the world, hosting numerous sessions and pitches throughout the event. Bringing together participants from Japan and abroad fostered meaningful exchanges from diverse perspectives and facilitated the creation of new networks.

In addition, several prominent figures from the political world, including current Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura, took to the stage to share their hopes for industrial transformation and regional revitalization through startups and deep tech.

One GSEeds member commented, "I'm glad I participated in this volunteer program. It was very inspiring to be able to get up close and personal with domestic and international startups and Japan's top leaders."

Activities by GSEeds members

While many prominent figures took the stage and many visitors visited WASSE, GSEeds members worked on the WASSE reception and venue information, as well as handling domestic and international visitors. Despite facing challenges such as inexperienced responses and unexpected questions, each member made sincere efforts over the two days to ensure the smooth operation of GSE 2025.
Outside of the activity hours, the participants actively engaged in exchanges with participating startups and other members, and we believe this event provided an invaluable opportunity to foster innovation over the medium to long term.

GSE2025 was a great success thanks to the cooperation of GSEeds. At the next member’s event, we plan to reflect and articulate, through group work how each member has grown and changed as a result of participating in this volunteer activity. Additionally, we will explore what steps they plan to take to drive innovation in the world in the future.
